Every time I refill my water bottles, I think about how fortunate I am to have pretty clean water. I think about how 96% of the world’s water is carried by women. I think about the millions of women and girls around the world who walk an average of 4 miles a day to bring water to their families, water that very often is not clean. I think of the health risks they face of head, neck and spinal injuries and of being without water for days at a time. Most of them are women of color in Africa, India, and even Flint Michigan. I hope this art piece brings attention to their plight.

All punch quilts are made with fabric, batting, foam board, glue, and embellishments. All are and backed with tempered board, and are wired and ready for hanging.
