“Sankofa” from the Twi language of Ghana meaning "Go back and get it". It also refers to one of the Adinkra symbols from West Africa of a bird with its head turned backwards while its feet face forward carrying a precious egg in its mouth. It enjoins citizens to learn from the past before moving forward.

All punch quilts are made with fabric, batting, foam board, glue, and embellishments. All are and backed with tempered board, and are wired and ready for hanging.
